| ANESTHESIA |
| Anesthesia includes the methods used by oral & maxillofacial surgeons to control the pain and anxiety of patients treated in outpatient's facilities. Anxiety, fear and pain must be controlled satisfactorily during surgery in order to permit safe and effective completion of the procedures. Local anesthesia, Nitrous oxide-oxygen analgesia, and I.V. sedation are used for conscious sedation. If deeper levels of consciousness are needed, general anesthesia is administered in a hospital environment. |
